Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Brewers were firing on all cylinders, pummeling the Sherrill Silversmiths 19-1 at Utica's Donovan Stadium.

Miguel Navarro threw seven scoreless innings for the Brewers (6-5), allowing only one hit in the process and striking out 13. Wesley Van Boom was the only Silversmiths (5-7) player to get a hit, with a lead-off single in the second inning.

Utica's bats were hot throughout the contest. Sherill's starter, Jesus Hernandez, lasted three innings, and served up three home runs and eight hits. Four other pitchers followed, letting in a combined 12 runs off 12 hits.

Utica's offense was lead by designated hitter Matt Bahnick, who went 6-for-6 with two homers. Right fielder Eros Modena also hit a home run, going 4-for-5 on the night.

The Brewers return to Donovan Stadium on Wednesday, where they take on the Syracuse Salt Cats. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free pair of thunder sticks.
