NEWCOMB, N.Y. (AP) — New York state has finished work on three replacement bridges in a scenic area of the Adirondack Mountains.

The Department of Environmental Conservation says the three new bridges in the Essex Chain Lakes Complex will make the area more accessible. The bridges provide motor vehicle access to the Essex Chain Lakes Primitive Area and sections of the Blue Mountain Wild Forest.

The almost-20,000 acre complex contains the eight lakes of the Essex Chain and several other ponds and lakes.

The bridges will be accessible from the end of mud season to first snowfall.
