Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica's Municipal Housing Authority has received a multi-year grant enabling the group to provide financial and housing services to the city's residents.

According to Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, the grant totals more than $155,000, and will provide Utica's AmeriCorps Program with twelve full-time positions.

Brindisi says the program helps those participating make better financial decisions as they learn about proper budgeting, how to avoid foreclosure and how to choose a loan.

Though the project focuses on veterans, refugees and the homeless, other residents will be able to receive the services.
