Brindisi Hosts ‘Youth Advisory Panel’
Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi held his first ever Youth Advisory Panel at Rome free Academy to discuss education issues with local students.
Among the hot-button issues discussed was the concern over the common core, education financing and the future of the jobs market in the Mohawk Valley.
Trinh Truong is a student at Proctor High School who is also a member of the Utica Youth Common Council.
She feels that students should get involved in government so they can have a voice in Albany.
Truong added that youth employment opportunities are important to her and she wants to make sure students have a path to jobs before and after graduation.
Brindisi says he plans to host several more youth panels over the next year.
