Standing in front of the Nice 'N Easy gas station on Culver Avenue in Utica, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi launched a new campaign to bring gas prices down in the Mohawk Valley.

Brindisi is asking the public to sign a postcard or online petition supporting his bill that would toughen state regulations governing gas prices as it relates to "pricing zones."

He says consumers need to tell Albany they're tired of price gouging.

Brindisi says it's unacceptable that Utica-Rome area motorists pay 20 or even 30 cents a gallon more than people in Syracuse pay when the gas comes from the same pipeline.

Brindisi says he'll introduce his legislation when the legislature returns early next year.
