The state Assembly will release its proposed budget for 2017-18 later this week.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says the spending plan will benefit many small businesses in the Mohawk Valley with significant tax cuts and increased incentives for research and development.

By providing significant income tax relief as well as new incentives for the many high tech firms in our area that do research and development, we will be helping boost employment opportunities that will encourage young people to stay in our region, as well as encouraging our existing business owners to grow and expand here,” Brindisi said.

“One of the comments I continue to hear almost every day is that New York needs to be more business friendly.  The Assembly’s budget proposal will do this, by providing support to our small business owners and entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our economy,” Brindisi said.

Brindisi says small businesses make up 90 percent of the companies in the area.
