Marcy, NY (WIBX) - If you're looking to start a business, listen up.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi is sponsoring legislation which would allow SUNY schools to develop and accept start-up businesses into an entrepreneur program.

The New York Entrepreneur Program Act also helps participants overcome some of the obstacles they may face when working to develop their business or product.

Brindisi says the proposed program is only one piece of the puzzle to maximize SUNY IT's economic impact on the region.

Last fall, $15-million was allocated through Governor Cuomo's Regional Economic Development Council initiative for the construction of a Computer Chip Commercialization Center on the Marcy campus.
