Albany, NY (WIBX) -Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says funding to Centro was restored to the proposed Assembly budget.

That amounts to $25,000 for the public transit service that will not be on the chopping block.

Saying, "This is the wrong time to cut vital programs like Centro," he added that working families who are struggling economically are depending on public transportation now more than ever. This is especially the case as gas prices continue to soar.

Centro of Oneida provides families in need with bus services and gas cards.

Brindisi says he will do whatever he can to ensure the funding is secured in the final budget.
