Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Brooklyn man is facing charges following a shooting incident at the corner of Schuyler and Wager Streets.

Utica Police were patrolling the area of Schuyler Street last night when they heard shots being fired from the back seat of a Jeep.

Officers pursued the vehicle for several blocks.

Three people jumped from the vehicle on the 12-hundred block of Walnut Street and fled on foot.

Police were able to catch 23-year old Antar Handy as he tried to climb a fence.

Handy was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A handgun was found in the vehicle, along with several packages of heroin and crack cocaine.

The two suspects remain at large.
