After the two teams combined to strand two dozen runners on base, Jay Bruce crushed a three-run walk-off home run as the Red beat the Mets 3-0 on Tuesday night in Cincinnati.

Bruce's 23rd homer of the year came off Josh Edgin, after the young southpaw was called in to face Cincy's power hitting left handed outfield.

Manny Acosta (1-3) gave up a walk and a hit to the two batters he faced in the ninth, setting up the game winning at bat.

Chris Young pitched into and out of jams all night, giving up eight hits and four walks, but keeping the game scoreless in his 5 2/3 innings.

Matt Latos also put up goose eggs, not allowing a run on five hits and two walks over seven.

Cincinnati left 14 runners on base before Bruce went yard. The Mets left 8.

Jose Arredando (5-2) worked a scoreless top half of the ninth to pick up the win.
