Utica, NY(WIBX) - Area students are getting an opportunity to use social media during an upcoming Broadway show. The Broadway Theatre League of Utica just announced the unique program as part of its 2012-2013 season line up. League President, Frank Dubeck, says the aim is to keep young people engaged in the Arts. "You go to the theater and you hear, 'please turn off all cell phones,' these kids will be allowed to have their cell phones on and tweet live during the performance," he said. In addition to using social media during the show to report on the performance, students will also be required to write a report about their experience.

The League's season kicks off this fall with a list of shows that include, West Side Story, A Chorus Line and Catch Me If You Can. Those interested in taking part in the Young Ambassadors' Program are encouraged to contact the group at (315) 724-7196 or visit them on line at, www.broadwayutica.com.
