Albany, NY (WIBX) - Make sure you buckle up before heading out this morning.

The 14-day statewide "Buckle Up New York" crackdown on drivers and their passengers who aren't wearing seat belts kicks off today.

Police will be out in full force across the state, making sure drivers are following the law.

State Police Superintendent Joseph D'Amico says the message is clear, it's click it or ticket, seat belts save lives.

The campaign runs through June 3rd.
