Buckley Pool To Reopen

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica's Buckley Pool will be re-opening this afternoon at 1:00.

When the swimming pool's pump and electrical system failed, the city faced a repair bill it couldn't pay.

An undisclosed list of private donors and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties raised the $15,000 needed to re-open the pool.

Local electricans volunteered their time to install the new pump and restore electric service.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says Utica's "fighting spirit" has prevailed.
