Travelers trying to leave Buffalo or get back home to Buffalo are delayed again. Due to the conditions brought on by the blizzard, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport will remain closed.

Travel has been disrupted nationwide due to winter storm Elliott. What should have been a busy holiday travel weekend turned into a nightmare for many. Flights were delayed and canceled due to wintry conditions.

On Friday, December 23, 2022, the airport canceled all evening flights.


On Saturday, Christmas Eve, the airport tweeted that it would remain closed through Monday.

Yesterday, December 26, the day the airport was supposed to reopen, it tweeted that it will remain closed.

The Buffalo Airport will remain closed until Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m.

Travelers trying to get into or out of Buffalo may be able to switch their flights to Rochester Airport. However, driving to Rochester may still be an issue. You can check out the airport's website here.
