BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Vermonters will soon have another option for flying to New York's LaGuardia Airport.

American Airlines will start flying from Burlington to LaGuardia on Dec. 15.

The only other airline to offer the service is Delta.

Burlington International Airport Director Gene Richards told the Burlington Free Press (http://bfpne.ws/2cuYS7Q ) that the competition between the two airlines will likely drive down the price for the flight.

He says American Airlines is also adding a second daily flight to Charlotte, North Carolina.

The airport is now served by six airlines — Allegiant, American, Delta, Jet Blue, Porter and United.
