At least ten people, including seven students, have now been confirmed dead after a bus accident in California.

UPDATE: 04/11/2014 7:44am Authorities are now saying that it appears that the driver of the FedEx truck may have crossed the freeway into oncoming traffic.  Investigators expect to release more information later today.

Authorities with the California Highway Patrol say a tour bus carrying prospective college students visiting Humboldt State University collided head-on with a FedEx delivery truck last night, killing the drivers of both vehicles and students.

The accident happened in Orland, California, about 100 miles north of Sacramento.

The investigation is still active and details are unfolding.  Tracy Hoover with the CHP says 44 high school students were on board, along with three chaperones and their driver.
