Funeral services for Trooper Donald R. Fredenburg will be held today at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Genesee Street in Utica.  Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to be in attendance.  Traffic advisories have been posted for the area near the church.Original Story:

Calling hours for New York State Trooper Donald Fredenburg of Utica are taking place until 7:00 tonight at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Genesee Street in Utica.

Fredenburg's funeral will take place tomorrow morning starting at 11:00 at the church.

The 23-year old Fredenburg died last week after collapsing during a training run at the State Police Academy in Albany.

An autopsy found Fredenburg died of a previously undiagnosed heart condition.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; his father, Donald, Sr.; and his mother, Joanne Cowley.

Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Genesee St. between Ballantyne Brae and Proctor Blvd, and Barton Ave. between Genesee St and Sunset Ave will be closed due to Trooper Fredenburg's funeral.

Utica Police say to please use an alternate route.
