Canastota Man Arrested On Sex Abuse Charges

A nearly three-week investigation has led to the arrest of a Canastota man on sexual abuse charges.

44-year old Charles Pentland is charged with sexual abuse, criminal sexual act, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office say Pentland allegedly subjected a child under the age of 11 to sexual contact.

Sheriff's Investigators were assisted by Madison County Child Protective Services and the Madison County Child Advocacy Center.
