Canastota Man Injured Following Motorcycle Accident in Vienna

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident in the Town of Vienna that resulted in injuries to the operator of that motorcycle.

On Sunday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. a Canastota man sustained injuries after he struck the rear of a truck on State Route 49. According to the Sheriff's Office 23-year-old Schuyler D. Robertson was riding his motorcycle behind Douglas Kocher who was driving a pickup truck.

It is reported that Kocher was slowing to make a right-hand turn, when Robertson failed to notice the turn signal. As a result Robertson struck the pickup as it was turning and he was ejected from the motorcycle.

Robertson was then airlifted via Mercy Flight helicopter to Upstate University Hospital for treatment and was cited for following to closely.
