New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - Candidates converged on the New Hartford Senior Center to meet with constituents during its annual Candidates Day Luncheon.

Among those attending were Congressman Richard Hanna and his Democratic opponent, Dan Lamb and Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney and her challenger, Daniel Carter.

Eileen Spellman, director of senior services for New Hartford, says the luncheon helps both sides understand the issues.

"It's important for the candidates to express what they plan to do," Spellman said. "This communication is very important, because the candidate will go back and do their best to sever all our people, but especially, in this case when they're here today, they they know what the seniors are doing and what they need."

Both the congressional and assembly races will be decided November 6th.
