DENNIS, Mass. (AP) — A Cape Cod woman and her newborn baby are resting comfortably in the hospital after a dramatic delivery in a car seat in a police station parking lot.

Mary Walker tells the Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/2dW94lI ) she wasn't due until Wednesday but when she started having contractions on Sunday she knew it was time, so her mother decided to drive her to the hospital.

But just a few minutes into the roughly 25-minute drive from her Harwich home to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, it became apparent they weren't going to make it.

So they pulled into the Dennis police station parking lot where officers Liz Tucker and Krista Wunderlich were waiting.

The officers kept mom comfortable until paramedics arrived at almost the same time that baby Ella arrived.
