New Hartford, NY (WIBX) – Two people were sent to the hospital after a two-car crash in New Hartford.

Police say the accident happened on Commercial Drive when 20-year-old Eric Veinot of Clinton passed through a red light at the intersection of Commercial Drive and Consumer Square and hit another car driven by 19-year-old Jordan Ramsey of Whitesboro.

Ramsey was temporarily trapped in her car and had to be extricated using the Jaws of Life. She and her passenger were taken to St. Luke’s hospital for evaluation of back and rib pain.

Veinot was issued a ticket for passing a red light. He’s due in New Hartford Town Court next month.
