"Caught on Tape" is getting caught up in the courts.

Three Utica police officers are filing defamation lawsuits against the Utica Phoenix and its publisher over a video that made national headlines almost 2-years ago.

The officers are seeking damages claiming that the video, which portrayed the officers as planting evidence during a traffic stop, was "willfully and maliciously" edited.

Officers Paul Paladino, Rob Pedulla, and James Holt are being represented by attorney Thomas J. DiNovo of the O'Connell and Aronowitz law firm.  The publisher of the Utica Phoenix, Cassandra Harris-Lockwood, is represented by attorney Stephen Lockwood.
