A Cazenovia man is in custody after robbing a gas station on Route 20 in Morrisville. Troopers say he wanted to be arrested because of a marital issue he was facing.

New York State Police say 62-year-old Richard Easterly allegedly entered the Valero Gas Station on Tuesday morning brandishing a shotgun. He then demanded money from the clerk.

Easterly then fled the scene in his vehicle, only to return later to turn himself in. He was then taken into custody without incident and told Troopers that he committed the crime intentionally due to a marital issue he was facing. He is being charged with Robbery in the 1st degree.

Easterly was arraigned in the Village of Morrisville Court and was remanded to the Madison County Jail on $10,000 cash/ $20,000 bond.
