Andy Rooney Dies at NYC Hospital

New York, NY (WIBX) - CBS News has confirmed that long-time 60 Minutes Commentator Andy Rooney has died, Rooney slipped from life in a New York City hospital, due to complications following minor surgery. He was 92.

Last month, Rooney retired from 60 Minutes,the 92-year old began his essays on the news magazine show back in 1978.

In more than a thousand broadcast editorials, Rooney offered his sardonic take on current events and personalities.

The Albany, NY native joined CBS back in 1949, he won a Peabody Award in 1975 for his for his efforts producing "Mr. Rooney Goes to Washington".
