A "Celebration of Success" was held at the Oneida County Jail on Wednesday, with a total of 30 inmates graduating from several types of programs.

The programs highlighted at the ceremony included Alternatives to Incarceration, Linking to Employment Activities Pre-Release, Ready-Set-Work, Thinking for a Change, Career Technology, Madison-Oneida BOCES Adult Education, and the Oriskany Alternative High School.

Sheriff's Office staff and educational partners work together with student inmates to provide them with solid and successful instruction so that their transition and re-entry back in to the community is smooth and positive with the goal of not returning to jail.

According to Sheriff Rob Maciol, the Sheriff's Office partner's with programs include the Oriskany Central School, Madison-Oneida BOCES, Oneida County Workforce Development and its' Board, Mohawk Valley Community College, and Trinity Food Service.
