Cemetery Vandals Desecrate The Dead

Trenton, NY (WIBX) - While many of us were paying our respects over the Memorial Day weekend, others were taking the opportunity to desecrate the dead.

A Civil War-era headstone was among those vandalized or stolen from the Evergreen Cemetery in Trenton.

Another headstone belonging to a veteran of three wars, World War I and World War II, along with the Korean War, was knocked off of its base.

The Civil War headstone is irreplaceable. Anyone with information is asked to call Oneida County Sheriffs at (315) 896.2985. All calls will be kept confidential.
