Central New York Remembers 9/11 With Memorials And Ceremonies For September 11, 2014
This year marks the 13th anniversary of the attacks of September 11th. Central New Yorkers will have many opportunities to mark this tragic day in our nation’s history.
The September 11th Remembrance Ceremony and Patriot’s Day will be held from 7-8pm at the Newport Volunteer Fires Station on Main Street in Newport. The West Canada Valley American Legion Post 1524 is also part of this event. Refreshments will be available after the ceremony.
The 9/11 Remembrance Honor Wall and Dedication Ceremony happens in Rome at 6:30pm at the Rome Police and Fire Memorial 9/11 Park on Black River Blvd.
Utica’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony gets underway at 9:30am on the Memorial Parkway in Utica.
The 13th Annual 9/11 and Regional Pray Breakfast begins at 7:30am at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro. Cost is $15 per person.
Sherrill’s Field of Honor and 9/11 Ceremony will feature hundreds of American flags, each representing a special person in our community and country. The ceremony begins at 7pm in Reilly-Mumford Park.
Sylvan Beach American Legion Post 1153 will have a 9/11 Ceremony in the Village Park starting at 7pm.
New York Mills will host the “Never Forget” ceremony that begins at 5:40 at the New York Mills Fire House. A silent march then goes to the 9-11 Memorial at 320 Main Street where the ceremony begins at 6:30.
