Centro Bus riders in Utica and Rome can now get real-time arrival information at any Centro Bus stop via text message.

The text service, available on any cell phone, follows Centro's December launch of the Go Centro Bus mobile app, which displays real-time transit information on smartphones or tablets.

To receive bus arrival information, all Centro riders will need to do is text the word GOCENTROBUS (followed by a stop ID number) to 41411. For customers who are unsure of their stop number, they can easily look it up via the Bus Tracker page on Centro’s website.

“We’re making even further strides in our transit technology with the implementation of SMS,” said Centro Chief Executive Officer Rick Lee. “Now it’s even easier for Centro riders who don’t have a smart device to plan trips and get where they need to simply by sending a text message.”
