A ceremony will take place on October 26th to dedicate Route 49 as the "Oneida County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway."

Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi say the event and sign-unveiling will also include a "Welcome Home" parade that those who served in the Vietnam War never received upon their return home.

The mile-long parade along Route 49 westbound will begin at 10:00.

Portions of westbound Route 49 and Route 12 will be closed to traffic for several hours during the ceremony and parade.

On Monday, the State DOT will be releasing more specific details, including a map, identifying the exact road closures.
