The New Hartford Police Department has taken a man into custody following a domestic violence investigation.

47-year-old Donald P. Cavoli Jr. of Chadwicks, NY is facing several charges as a result of multiple reported domestic disputes. According to police the incidents occurred on Saturday, February 25th, 2017. Police responded to a complaint on that evening to find a victim had been involved in an alleged physical dispute with Cavoli. At the time of the incident, that victim was able to escape the residence to avoid further confrontation.

On that same evening a second physical incident was reported by the victim after they were able to escape yet again. While further conducting the investigation on both incidents it was found and confirmed by law enforcement that Cavoli had violated an active order of protection issued by the Town of New Hartford Court during each incident. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.

Cavoli is facing several Felony charges including Criminal Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Aggravated Criminal Contempt, two counts of Criminal Contempt, and harassment (a violation). After arraignment Cavoli was remanded to the Oneida County Jail. He will appear in New Hartford Town Court at a later date.
