Chadwicks Man Surrenders After Standoff With Police
A Chadwicks man was taken into custody early this morning following a nearly five hour standoff with police.
New Hartford Police were called to the Brookside Mobile Manor late Tuesday night where a man with a gun allegedly threatened to kill a woman.
Police say the woman was able to get out safely, but 45-year old Donald Cavoli, Junior barricaded himself inside the residence.
Negotiators eventually talked Cavoli into surrendering at around 4:30 Wednesday morning.
He was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Cavoli was charged with two counts of harassment and was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $5,000 bail.
New Hartford Police were assisted by the Utica Police Department, Oneida County Sheriff's Office, State Police and the Willowvale Fire Department.
