NORWICH, N.Y. (AP) — A 39-year-old upstate New York man has been convicted of killing his wife, whose naked, frozen body was found in a rural field three months after he reported her missing.

Local media report that a Chenango County Court jury returned its second-degree murder verdict against Ganesh Ramsaran around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after deliberating for about three hours.

Ganesh, a former IBM program manager, testified during his three-week trial that he didn't kill Jennifer Renz Ramsaran. The 36-year-old mother of three disappeared in December 2012.

Her body was found the following February off a rural road near the couple's home in New Berlin.

Ramsaran, a former Yonkers resident, was charged with second-degree murder three months later.

A medical examiner testified that Jennifer Ramsaran apparently had been hit in the head before she died.
