Child Stabbed To Death in Sherill Assault

Sherrill, NY (WIBX) - A child is dead following a stabbing in the City of Sherrill.

State Police were called to a dispute on Primo Avenue around 8:30 this morning.

Police say 36-year-old Alison Belius awoke to one of her children screaming in a room which was barricaded by a dresser.

Belius found her live-in boyfriend, 30-year-old David L. Trebilcock, stabbing her 6-year-old daughter, Lauren Belius.

There were two six-year-old girls in the room at the time of the incident.

The mother attempted to stop the attack on her daughter, but was unable.

The girl was transported to Oneida Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Trebilcock was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with numerous stab wounds, but it is unclear whether the wounds were self-inflicted.

He is expected to be charged with murder in the 2nd degree.

The case is still under investigation.
