Child Found Wandering, Rome Mother Charged

Rome, NY (WIBX) – A Rome woman was arrested after her two-year old son was found walking alone on a city street.

23-year old Kayla Willis was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Rome Police say the child, who was wearing just shorts and a shirt, was found wandering along Fort Stanwix Avenue on Sunday morning.

Police say Willis had left toddler at home alone while she went to the store and the child walked out of the home.

The child, who did not suffer any injuries, is with other family members.
