Child Injured in Domestic Dispute in Herkimer

UPDATE: 07/06/2014 0804  Herkimer Police say that the child was brought by his mother to the hospital.  He was treated and has been released.

Original Story: 

A small child was injured in a domestic dispute in Herkimer on Saturday.

Herkimer Police responded to a home on East German Street at approximately 9:00am on July 5, 2014.

24-Year old Benjamin Anthony, believed to be the father, allegedly hit the child and caused physical injuries.

Herkimer Police located and arrested Anthony, who had left the premises.  He is being charged with felony assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and obstructing governmental administration.

He was sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Herkimer Police were not able to provide any more information as of this posting.
