Gino Geruntino, WIBX

It’s official, Deputy City Engineer Goran Smiljic is leaving the City of Utica.

The announcement was made during last night’s Common Council meeting, where Smiljic was presented with a plaque for his 13 years of city work.

Smiljic joined the City of Utica in February 2000, as a Housing Code Inspector and was later appointed Deputy City Engineer in 2010.

During a short presentation, Councilwoman Samantha Colosimo-Testa addressed several of his biggest successes, including the Oneida Square Roundabout, the Multi-Modal Center and his Genesee Street Boulevard concept.
