It's official, Deputy City Engineer Goran Smiljic is leaving the City of Utica.

The announcement was made during last night's Common Council meeting, where Smiljic was presented with a plaque for his 13 years of city work.

Smiljic joined the City of Utica in February 2000, as a Housing Code Inspector and was later appointed Deputy City Engineer in 2010.

During a short presentation, Councilwoman Samantha Colosimo-Testa addressed several of his biggest successes, including the Oneida Square Roundabout, the Multi-Modal Center and his Genesee Street Boulevard concept.
