The anniversary of that terrible September day in 2001 is quickly approaching and once again the City of Rome will host an event in remembrance of those who tragically lost their lives.

The 9/11 Memorial Ceremony also includes the Police and Fire Honor Wall dedication ceremony. Both will happen on Tuesday September 11th, 2108 at 6:30 p.m.

The two firefighters being honored this years are Lieutenant Joseph Uvanni and Lieutenant Bruce Flanigan. Both men will have plaques bearing their name added to the Honor Wall.

The event is open to the public and it's all taking place at the Police and Fire Memorial Park on Black River Boulevard. If the weather does not cooperate, the alternate location will be the Central Fire Station at 158 Black River Boulevard. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
