City Of Utica USA Luge Slider Search

Utica, NY (WIBX) - USA Luge is planning to hold a Slider Search Clinic in Utica. The group, sponsored by Saranac Soft Drinks, is inviting all interested athletes--age 11 to 14--to come out and take part in the one-day event happening on August 20th.

5-time World Cup Medalist, Erin Hamlin of Remsen, will be conducting the clinics along with other USA Luge national team members and coaches. Organizers say the Slider Search will be held in Utica, on the hill down Cornelia Street between Court and Columbia Streets near City Hall. The clinics will run from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Only 25 slots are open for each clinic. There is no charge to participate. Over 100 area youths have participated in past Slider Searches, and officials say 5 of them have gone on to become members of the USA Junior Development Luge Team.
