Civil Suit Against Utica Police In Longo Case Will Go To Trial
The wrongful death lawsuit against the Utica Police Department in the murder-suicide involving former UPD investigator Joseph Longo will go to trial.
US District Court Judge David Hurd has ruled that there is enough evidence to be considered by a jury.
Longo stabbed his wife Kristen Palumbo-Longo to death in September of 2009 before taking his own life.
The suit alleges the police department and then-Chief Dan LaBella failed to protect Palumblo-Longo from her husband.
The civil trial is set to begin on January 13th.
