During Jimmy Kimmel's monologue on ABC Thursday night, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney's name came up as part of a joke about Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.

"We have a 'Deep State' ordering furniture for people," Kimmel asked in his Carson joke setup.  The mention is referencing an interview Tenney gave this week in which she said Carson was set up by the liberal 'Deep State,' which actually ordered the $31,000 conference table that Carson has been criticized for ordering. The problem with Tenney's remarks is that Carson himself told Congress this week that his wife was to blame for ordering the expensive piece of furniture. He also told House members during a hearing that the conference table was returned because it was "dangerous."  He said the danger was related to broken chairs.

The comment by Tenney comes on the heels of her controversial claim that most mass shooters tend to be Democrats. Tenney is facing a challenge in the 22nd congressional district by Utica area New York Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi.
