Cold Brook Man Airlifted To Syracuse Following Deerfield Crash

UPDATED 4/30, 1:22 p.m.- State Police say Cady has died of his injuries and University Hospital in Syracuse

New York State Police are still investigating a one-car crash on State Route 8 in the Town of Deerfield.

Authorities say, a pickup truck being operated by 79-year-old Gerald Cady from Cold Brook, NY was traveling north on State Route 8 when he crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, exited the shoulder and struck a tree.

Cady was removed from the vehicles and airlifted by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He's listed in critical condition.

A 7-year-old passenger in the truck was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
