Collision Sends Plow Truck Operator to Hospital

Rome, NY (WIBX) – An early morning accident sent a Rome City plow truck driver to the hospital.Oneida County Sheriff’s Office officials say 50-year old Mark E. Peavey of Verona ran a red light at Route 365 and Lamphear Road in Rome and collided with the plow truck that was being operated by Thomas McCormick. Officials say the accident occurred by Rome Veterinary Hospital as Peavey traveled Eastbound and McCormick was headed Northbound. McCormick was taken to Rome Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The accident is still under investigation but Sheriff officials say Peavey will be charged with Failure to Stop at a Stop Light.
