The Utica Comets have signed forward Ryan Jones to a professional tryout contract.

Jones has NHL experience with 334 games in his career with the Nashville predators and most recently with the Edmonton Oilers where he played in 52 games last season.

Coming into his seventh professional year, Jones has 100 points (54 goals, 46 assists) and 181 penalty minutes in the NHL.

Jones had a career high with 18 goals in 2010-2011 with the Oilers.

Utica will be Jones' fourth stop in the AHL.

The Comets open their season on Saturday in Toronto.
