Tally another win for the Utica Comets, their third straight and sixth in the last eight games.

Utica got the game winner in the third period last night off the stick of Hunter Shinkaruk en route to a 2-1 win over the Adirondack Flames. It was Shinkaruk's fifth goal of the season and fourth game winner.

The Comets lead all of the AHL in points this season (45) and boast a record of 20-5-5-0.

And, that means when Utica hosts the 2015 All Star Classic next month, coach Travis Green will have the honor of being behind the bench of the Western stars.

Utica hosts Lake Erie at the AUD in front of a sold out crowd on Saturday night at 7:00. Tickets are still available for a New Year's Day matinee at the AUD when San Antonio comes to town.
