New York, NY (WIBX) - The New York State Commission on Public Integrity has determined that Governor David Paterson gave false testimony regarding the tickets he received for Game 1 of the 2009 World Series at Yankee Stadium. It has fined Paterson over $60,000.

Paterson was given five free tickets to the game and attended with two of his aides, his son and his son's friend. The Commission said it has determined Paterson was not there in an official capacity and only paid for the tickets after word about the incident spread.

The Commission said that Paterson's claim that he always intended to pay for the tickets was refuted by members of his own staff, the Yankees and, "common sense." And, his false testimony is further evidence of knowledge that he knew is conduct was unlawful.
