The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct is recommending a Town of Conklin Justice be removed from the bench.

Several media sources report Marshall Ayres was accused of pressuring officials to try to get his daughter’s traffic ticket dismissed and another incident involving a restitution order.

Prosecutors say Ayres’ 30 year old daughter was allegedly ticketed by New York State Police in December of 2014 for using a cell phone while driving.

The commission said that 8 letters that Ayres is said to have sent to a Broome County Judge regarding the case were improper and his removal from office is warranted.

A final decision is up to the chief judge of the Court of Appeals.
