Officials at the Rome Rescue Mission say they've had an overwhelming response from the community after a pipe in their dry food pantry burst last week.

They say they received an outpouring of donations from individuals and businesses.

That included a donation from Berkshire Bank that included $250 in gift certificates from Aldi's and multiple boxes of food.  And Hannaford's Supermarket in New Hartford donated two pallets of food.

“It’s amazing how our community bans together” Says Matt Miller, executive director of the Rome Rescue Mission. “We are grateful for all of the individuals and businesses that have donated to the mission in the last week. Thank you all."

Items can be dropped off at the Rescue Mission on East Dominick Street Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 2:00.
