The Kevin "Bing" Crossely Memorial Foundation was recently established by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties.

Crossley was a Village of Whitesboro Police Officer who died in a motor vehicle accident while on patrol in April.

The foundation was established by Kevin's parents, George and Linda Crossley, with community donations received by the family, including those from a GoFundMe campaign.

The foundation will award scholarships in areas that interested Kevin, like small engine repair and criminal justice.

It will also support community outreach programs that help bring together local youth and law enforcement.

“Many people have asked how the family plans to spend the GoFundMe proceeds,” said Frank Candella, a long-time friend of Kevin’s and member of the foundation’s advisory committee. “The Crossley family feels fortunate to have had Kevin’s funeral expenses paid for. As a result, they want to give back to the local community in Bing’s memory.”
