New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli will be at the State Fair in Syracuse presenting unclaimed funds checks to Central New Yorkers.

One of the checks being distributed is for almost fourteen thousand dollars.  The funds were collected from an old bank account that was apparently forgotten.

He is scheduled to begin disbursing checks at the unclaimed funds booth at 11:15am on Monday, August 26, 2013.

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says there are more than $12.5 billion in funds that remain unclaimed by New Yorkers. DiNapoli wants to get this money back in the hands of state residents because he says every dollar counts when it comes to these tough economic times.
